WHY I AM SEEKING THE OFFICE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER

I believe that public officials at all levels of government should work together on behalf of the residents they were elected to serve.  It is critical that the County Commissioners work with each one of the 28 communities that are part of Norfolk County as partners. If differences on issues arise, it is critical that all parties work together to reach middle ground.

I believe that the County Commissioners have a duty and responsibility to spend the funds they receive from each of the 28 communities, the state, and federal government in a manner that is beyond reproach.

I believe that the Norfolk Agricultural High School, “Norfolk Aggie”, is an incredible asset and resource for high school youth in Norfolk County. Examining how to make the services and resources of Norfolk Aggie available to a larger population is an effort worth exploring.

I have been fortunate in establishing excellent working relationships and friendships with elected and appointed officials within local, state, regional, and federal governments.  It is my hope to use those relationships to expand programs and services at Norfolk Aggie, to explore programs and services that may increase cost effectiveness in the 28 communities, and examine what opportunities may exist to improve Norfolk County government services.

The three current commissioners reside in Canton, Milton, and Quincy.

As a resident of Medway, I believe that it is important to have County Commissioners who represent all of Norfolk County and having a Commissioner who lives and knows the people and issues of the western part of Norfolk County would strengthen the Commission.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS CANDIDATE FORUM

My opponent has been in office for 28 years.  The county does not have a strategic plan for its programs and services, does not have an energy sustainability plan, does not have a diversity, equity, and inclusion policy or plan.

During the League of Women Voters Forum, my opponent stated, “The golf course makes approximately $100,000 per year.”  This is not true. The best practices audit conducted by the Abrahams organization cited by my opponent revealed that the golf course lost $64,000 in 2019 and lost $224,000 in 2020.

Our county government lacks transparency.  My opponent states that the commissioner meetings are on Wednesday at 1:00 so that vendors can participate.  Nonsense.  Commissioner meetings need to be in the evening so the residents of the county can watch and participate in the meetings.  I am confident the vendors will attend when necessary.

My opponent has lead the effort to remove trees, many more than 60 years old, so that a solar farm can be installed on the campus of Norfolk Aggie. This is bad policy.  I oppose the removal of trees from the Norfolk Aggie campus.

I may not be the most knowledgeable person regarding all of the issues and opportunities that need to be examined  by the Norfolk County Commissioners but I assure you that I know how to work hard for you and with the most knowledgeable people concerning the issues that need to be addressed.

Please watch the video.  The differences between me and the incumbent are stark.  I hope you will cast your vote for me.
